10 July 2009 - cold in the morning, gradually getting warmer .. until it started raining in the evening

So today was the last day of school as the title suggests and as most people are on their last day of school, relieved and feel free. Ha, so cliche there aren't I? But anyway. I am glad people have started to blog again and it is finally the holidays, enabling people to start blogging constantly now. Although the constant blogs nowadays are there I suppose due to boredom and sickness in comparison to responsibility and excitement. Well this is just here because I have nothing better to do.

I haven't blogged in a while, due to the fact absolutely nothing has happened, except yesterday I went to the zoo as part of the Project Penguin activity. I guess I can make this post longer by elaborating on that too. I have quite a bit to talk about today.

So today, as part of the penguin project a group of us and me went to the zoo to attend to a Expo Day where they displayed the final projects that made it through. Beforehand, I thought it was going to be a horrible day, seeing those kids again that fcking dobbed us in. *sigh, I feel like such a child using that word: dobbed.

Anyway, in the morning, I received a text from Lizzy saying she was sick and was not going to come. Originally, I thought she was just going to leave me with those little kids and let me handle them for myself. But in the end, the only interaction I had with them that day was that I saw Olivia's face and encounterd Nadia calling out my name several times, until I ran away.

Anyway, the day started off as the group of us meeting up at school then further taking a bus to the zoo together. Fortunately, my group didn't make it through to the finals so I didn't have the endure the day alone with them. 9 out of 16 groups from our school got into the finals, I think, one of them was Emma and Will's group. Haha. Then, our group of 26 got on to the bus to the zoo. The finalists got off the bus before us to prepare their thingo at the function centre.

While they were doing that, the rest of us non-finalists trekked to the 'Backyard Bush' part of the zoo and we did a mini-evaluation of the whole Project Penguin. After that, we trekked up another hill to the function centre to review the other projects. Izzy and I shared a sheet and completed it in a matter of seconds. Then we found Emma and Will's group who were setting up their project. Some of us got a bit of a KitKat from Zahra who was across from Emma's group. We got bored and Max, Jonno, Daran, Jesse, Angus, Chris?, Izzy and I went upstairs and sat in a random corridor staying there, bored.

Eventually, the boredom really got to Izzy and me and we went down the lift to get Izzy's bag. The lift took ages to arrive and when we got to the level we were supposed to get off, there was a lady standing there.

We got Izzy's bag and found Will at his project trying to get his group to be productive. We got Izzy's bag and left and went back up to the corridor. A few minutes later, Emma arrived and she stayed for a while, until she went back to her project.

We got bored again and decided to go to the Seal Show earlier. The group of us started to go to the Seal Show only to find a member of the zoo standing there.

We continued to walk around in circles, not aiming for anywhere in particular. At one point, we tried to go to the orangutans for Izzy, only to find that it was under renovation. :/ We then went to the food court and bought 2 packs of prawn crackers and munched on them while walking around in another circle. Again, we went past the Seal Show and the same zoo member talked to us again and said something about the seal show being at a different time, I think.

Well anyway, we got tired walking around, well I did, and we headed back to the function centre. Instead of sitting in the corridor now, we sat outside the lifts { above the level where the lady was } and just sat there for a while. That was until we found the place eerily silent. We got up and left and found everyone on the level below sitting down for the awards ceremony. The group of us sat in a corner where the stage was not visible.

We started eating our lunch and followed by lollipops courtesy of Jesse. Since Jonno has braces, Max and Daran started to annoy him by crunching their lollipops. I think Jesse tried and failed due to "weak teeth". Anyway, while the awards ceremony went on, many people went up to talk including.

What I mean by this is that originally the group of us thought it was a girl excluding Daran and then when I went around the corner to look, we found out it was a guy that sounded like a girl.
Aaron and Zahra; yeah, they went up to talk, just felt like pointing that out.

Afterwards, the Manly group met up at the door. We broke Max's umbrella then we left. Not that we went there JUST to break his umbrella, it was on accident by Izzy. :/ On the way to the bus stop, we stopped at the elephants and caught a glimpse of the baby elephant. It was tiny and so cute. :D Since I failed to take a picture, I just scanned google.

So, while waiting for the bus we just stood around doing nothing. Again, Jesse and Daran annoyed Jonno with their gum and established a "Jonno language". After that, nothing much happened. The bus arrived. Got on. Got to school. Got off. 769 came early. Got on. Got to Forestway. Got off. 280 bus came. Got on. Got to Jamieson Square. Got off. etc.

Today, as the title has already suggested, it was the last day of school. As usual, last days of schools, are bludge. Although, at night on TV, was the all-anticipated "So You Think You Can Dance." From America by the way.

01 - Science
We went up to Room 231 and watched a video on the "Dynamic Earth". I wasn't really listening to the video, I was doing my jap homework. D: It was not all too interesting but the video did look quite old fashioned.

02 - Maths
In Maths, I caught up with work I missed from yesterday due to Project Penguin. I didn't manage to finish which reminds me, I have to get a new maths book. At the moment, my maths book is just a bunch of papers stapled together. No exaggeration.

03 - Japanese
We had Edmond/Edmund today. I have no idea how to spell his name. We had planned to play cards during the lesson, but Edmond caught us, { well obviously } and told us to put the cards away. But before we put it away, he showed us a trick. During the rest of the lesson, I did work :O and then worked on the back of the sheet which enabled us to describe ourselves. Jenny and I worked together on this one and our family consists of;

number of older sisters; 11
number of older brothers; 12
number of younger sisters; 12
number of younger brothers; 12
You can try add it all up, it does equal 69, and funnily enough, we also wrote that we were 69 years old. And we still have older brothers, older sisters, mothers and a father. By the way, the fathers through to younger brothers ='s 68 but then you add yourself ;] We have a big family. XD

04 - Graphics
Since I didn't finish my Graphics assignment at home, I did the majority of it in class. I managed to print everything off even though it meant waiting through the whole period and lunch AND the majority of PE. But in the end, after lots of hustle and bustle around the room, I managed to stick everything into my folder, completed and hand it in.

05 - Graphics/PE
Since the majority of PE, I was in Graphics, I didn't do much except for play cards with Gavin again. Retarded. His sets of 10 included some;

+` etc.

06 - English
We were supposed to our Kaplan thing, but it was last lesson of last day of Term 2 so Cathy, Erine and I asked to go to the Learning Centre. Unfortunately, Tomlin was in the library, and O'donnell was in the Learning Centre. :/ Throughout the lesson, we didn't do anything, well Erine and I did nothing. Although we helped Rutherford pack up the headphones. A while after that, we headed back to the classroom and then we were FREE!


8:00PM - SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE
Finally, after weeks, America finally have their TOP 20. This consisted of;
+` girls; Jeanine, Melissa, Kayla, Randi, Janette, Asuka, Karla, Caitlin, Paris, Ashley
+` boys; Ade, Evan, Jason, Kupono, Brandon, Jonathan, Phillip, Max, Tony, Vitolio

Well, I didn't like that Jonathan guy anyway. But I'm disappointed that no asians are left. :/
Well, I thought all performed well, except for Asuka and Vitolio. :/ And a couple of others. I thought Phillip and Jeanine performed exceptionally well though! They danced a hip hop routine to Mad by Neyo. I also liked Brandon and Janette's foxtrot. It was really pretty especially the part where she actually "flew"
