Too cool for school?
Tuesday, October 05, 2010 @ 10:02:00 pm
I hear a lot of people around me saying that school is all bullshit. If not, school up to and including Year 10 is bullshit. Apparently, this way of thinking is
cool. No, it's not. Seriously, that leb guy's talk really got to me. ›› Do you want to achieve over 90 in the School Certificate?
›› If yes, are you studying like you want to get over 90 in the School Certificate?
Honestly, since day 1 in high school, our educators have been trying to make sure that we are prepared for the School Certificate and Higher School Certificate. In return, our attitudes are such as "Psh, school. It doesn't actually matter until Year 11 and 12." And those that say "As long as it doesn't show up on my report so my parents find out, it's okay." So, what about that massive report at the end of your high school years that reflects your learning for the past 6 years? You can hide mid-year reports from your parents, but there's no way you can hide your HSC result from your parents.
To be completely contradictory, I used to think like this too. Why? I thought it was "cool" that I didn't care about school. But deep inside, I tried to get good marks. Why again? I want a good future. Not one that's screwed up because I thought it was cool to do drugs in my mid-teenage years. Recently, I found myself a career path. One that I'm sure of and that will lead to a good future, if successful. To make it successful I have to do well in school, and by that, I have to try.
Does that sound childish and uncool? The fact that we go to school, not because that's where our friends are, but because we want to learn. I'm sure I could ask anyone in the world whether they wanted a good future or not and they would reply with Yes, I do want a good future. There are some in this world who aren't as privileged as you are and can't even afford education.
If school didn't matter, don't come. And don't go saying that your parents this your parents that... If you genuinely don't like school, don't want a future, run away. I'm going to tell you this plainly. You go to school to learn. It all adds up to your final mark that the rest of your future relies upon. For those that go to school and think that really think that school is bullshit and doesn't matter at all, think about why you come at all.

7 things I hate about some people .
Tuesday, September 21, 2010 @ 8:27:00 pm

There are just some things that piss me off a lot. I actually found it hard to hate someone, but there are just some things, and they're not that little:
1. When people start feeling self-conscious about their body shape
Some people really do have a good body shape, and they don't mind it. But other people just complain and complain and complain some more how they have fat here and fat there. You are fine. Do you really want to know the extent of fat you have on you? Go look at a remote control. I'm not going to say stick, because that would also be unhealthy. And also, you're 15/16, you don't need to count your calorie intake and you most definitely don't need to skip meals. Just to let you know, it doesn't help.
2. When people can't admit the truth
E.g. You are really pretty. Someone compliments you. You say "No, what the fxck is wrong with your head." No, seriously. I should be the one saying that to you. Can you just accept the compliment. You are pretty, accept it. And then there are people that are just freakishly smart. Again, they say, "No, I'm dumb, what the fxck are you talking about." Again, @#%#$^$%*$. Enough said. Moving on.
3. Pretences
I'm not going to discriminate you because you're different. So just be you. Please. There's nothing wrong with being a bitch. Somewhere in all of us, there's one of those. You're more likely to be closer to people if you show your true self. In most cases. The point is you don't have to be any different around me than with other people because it makes me feel sad that you do. :/ Also, don't lie.
4. People with awesome auras and a cool charisma
Those of you that are just cool and attract people. Screw you. Sorry, I don't have anything against you, it's just WHY CAN'T I BE LIKE THAT. Gosh, I want to be able to attract people. You have an awesome ability, don't take it for granted. Seriously. But then again, don't feel too self-conceited. That's just not cool.
* At this point, can you tell I'm running out of things to say. Because I am, I actually struggle to hate people. It' just not something I can do.
5. When they ask me something and I can't say no because that would be rude
I would let you anyway, so why do you ask. But when I really want something, but you ask me, I can't say no. But then again, that doesn't happen very much. Just do what every body else does, and just take it.
6. When they chuck a rage at you even though you have no idea what they are talking about and how it doesn't concern you at all
I laugh in the face of this. It doesn't have anything to do with me. I don't mind if you talk to me about it. Just calm it down a notch.
7. When people pretend to like you, but they actually don't.
Sorry, I hate this aspect of myself too. Yeh, there are some parts of you that I don't really like and I know there are parts of me which you don't like, so don't pretend to like me and get my hopes up saying I have a friend, oh wait, no, she's just a frenemy. Argh, seriously.

you're beautiful
Tuesday, September 14, 2010 @ 7:34:00 pm

Everyone has their own beauty. Legend? No, it's true.
Many people don't believe in their own beauty. And you know what, that's ridiculous. I know many people that are overly self-conscious about their appearance. But you know what, do something for me:
›› Define beauty.
My guess is, the first few things you thought of were the physical forms of beauty. Ever heard of inner beauty? I feel absolutely sure that I can bet you all of my possessions that somewhere inside you, you are beautiful.
What defines you is your own individual beauty. It may be your bubbly personality, your intelligence or your sardonic attitudes that attracts the people around you. For me, I can be pretty bitchy, can get highly annoying and loud, but I'm fairly happy all the time. This is because I know that there is someone there for me and don't mind my flaws, but rather accepts them.
And honestly, if you're still worried about your face or your figure, trust me on this you're beautiful. You may cover those pores and pimples or your flawless skin but people will be able to see that outrageously stunning self inside of you.
Those that think that they have no beauty, your self-esteem is obviously pretty low. Look at yourself in the mirror, don't go saying 'Eww, it's a pimple on my nose'. How about you be a bit more optimistic and say 'Wow, my hair is nice today'. Don't go saying there is nothing there to compliment either.
Face it, you're beautiful. 88.
Btw, shall I bother drawing your attention to the new layout, or have you noticed already. Archives are on the bottom.

path to the unknown . the future . the reality ...
Monday, September 13, 2010 @ 8:03:00 pm

If you think about it, every second of our time we're spending, is another step towards our future. Just sitting here, sipping at my lemon tea and with a twisted ankle, just thinking about the most useless things: that really doesn't look like a face, domino's oven baked sandwiches... what is it doing? Reality is.. nothing.
I'm in Year 10, and I have a rough idea of where my future is going to take me. Whether this is a success or not, I don't know . Hopefully, like many other people, I'd prefer if it went the way I wanted to. So, the reality. In 1 year, I'll be doing preliminaries, a year and a half after that, I'll be doing my HSC. After that, I won't have anymore guidance from teachers. Should be fun right? But underneath all that celebrating of having freedom, you realise that it is at this time, that you start making choices, by yourself, and it will affect not only you, but your family and friends.
And what about after uni? From there, find your own job. Something that you'll enjoy and have to endure for a while. Right now, I can't even predict what the future is going to be like. When I was younger, I didn't really have any close friends, friends I could tell every single, even if it hurt them. But now, I think I've really changed. The people around me may hate me, love me, don't know me, but they've made me who I am. As for the future, I don't want to lose them. In fact, I have a fear: fear of losing people.
